About Our Team
The Marketing & Sales Data Science team deploys sophisticated data science techniques to optimize the performance of Lenovo’s marketing and sales practices around the world, including pricing optimization, guided selling based on insights into customer behavior and market trends, and fraud detection.
What You’ll Do
As a Data Scientist on our pricing optimization team you will help maintain and refine components of our existing pricing optimization solutions addressing more than $10 billion in annual revenue, develop new approaches for businesses not yet served by solutions, and educate stakeholders on the function of the solutions.

• Assist in development and testing of analytics proofs-of-concept across all functional data sets
• Assist in the development of tools and applications to present insights to the stakeholder base
• Liaise internally within the team and externally with stakeholders in the business to complete analytics, reporting, and implementation of analytics-driven change
• Present findings developed through descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics
• Mentor and manage junior team members
• Review, implement and analyze algorithms that will substantially impact the company’s understanding of its data and its opportunities for improvement
• Work with the Analytics Director to define key questions and projects to transform the business
• Research and apply multidisciplinary techniques, findings and approaches to solutions that drive understanding of the business’ markets, customers, and opportunities
• Understand business needs, objectives and market when implementing analysis strategies
• Create, evolve and provide insights related to marketing and sales process and that impact the wider business

Position Requirements
Basic Qualifications:

• Knowledge of inferential statistics methods, machine learning and model building techniques, and market leading data analysis tools and platforms
• Ability to understand and extract data from large and complex data sets, including experience with large-scale algorithms
• Proficiency in using SQL and R or Python for ETL
• Proficiency in using R or Python for modeling
• Ability to provide insights from multiple raw and refined data sources
• 2+ years of experience deploying data science techniques in industry
• Knowledge of data quality measurements, methodology, and reporting tools
• Bachelors, Masters, or PhD degree in IT, Mathematics, Sciences or other technical discipline

Preferred Qualifications

• Project management skills and experience with end-to-end project management processes
• Strong results driven personality, with a high level of enthusiasm, energy and confidence
• Ability to automate ETL processes
• Excellent analytical, communication, organizational and presentation skills
