Job Description

Job Type: Contract

Expectation: Remote


More specifically, you will:

  • Communicate analytical findings by writing reports, creating presentations, and explaining research to business partners and senior management.
  • Contribute to key cross functional initiatives by collaborating with business stakeholders and technical teams, gathering requirements and translating that into technical action items, and helping build out innovative data solutions using best practices.
  • Perform practical data science analysis such has outlier detection, model drift, and model performance evaluation.
  • Provide consultative services to business partners and support scientific projects under the guidance of other members of the data science team.
  • Partner with other teams to access disparate data elements, working to understand the data being analyzed and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, architects to develop and deploy solutions that bring AI and advanced analytics to non-technical users.

Ability to demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or similar
  • One (1) to three (3) years of professional and/or academic experience in Data Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Machine Learning, Statistics, or related fields
  • Experience with common languages and software such as Python, R, SQL, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Academic and/or professional experience with developing and measuring performance of predictive models using statistical or machine learning techniques
  • Experience with modeling techniques such as statistical analysis, time series forecasting, regression models, optimization, machine learning models, etc.
  • Knowledge of data visualization software such as Tableau, MicroStrategy, Power BI, etc.


Preferred qualifications:

  • MS Degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other data-intensive fields
  • Proficient with common data science Python packages (including Pandas, SciPy, Scikit-learn etc.) and analytical techniques to collect, explore, and extract insights from structured and unstructured data.
  • Understanding of the big-data or cloud related ecosystems such as Apache Spark, Amazon Sagemaker, Google Cloud Platform, or similar frameworks
  • Experience in the hospitality/travel industry, Revenue Management, or demand forecasting
  • Advanced knowledge of time series, modern machine learning, and deep learning models is desirable
  • Three (3) years of professional and/or academic experience in Data Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics Machine Learning, Statistics, or related fields
