Job Description

The client is seeking a Data Modeler to develop database models and supporting documentation in order to meet business requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

• Implements and enforces data definitions, standards and procedures relating to logical design.

• Leads data design efforts and assists software engineers in data source discovery, data modeling, metadata capture and normalization techniques.

• Incrementally develop conceptual, logical and physical data models for new database objects

• Define data requirements and business rules, perform logical and physical data modeling, implement and test database design.

• Coordinate data models, dictionaries and other documentation across multiple applications.

• Lead database design sessions and capture data requirements for software engineering or re-engineering projects

• Data Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements for different phases of the asset lifecycle. Identify the data sources, mappings, formats, and quality criteria necessary for effective asset management. Familiarity with COBIT or ITIL IT governance and management frameworks and solid experience on the ServiceNow platform are a must.

• Data Model Design: Create and maintain data models that capture the relationships between assets, their attributes, and relevant metadata. Design data structures that facilitate efficient tracking, reporting, and analysis of assets throughout their lifecycle.

• Data Integration: Establish data integration processes to ensure a seamless flow of data across systems involved in asset lifecycle management. Implement data interfaces and workflows to enable data synchronization and consolidation.

• Data Quality Management: Define and enforce data quality standards for asset-related data. Establish data cleansing, validation, and enrichment processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of asset data.

• Data Security and Privacy: Collaborate with security and privacy teams to ensure compliance with data protection regulations and organizational policies. Implement security controls and data privacy measures to safeguard sensitive asset data.

• Data Analytics and Reporting: Enable data-driven decision-making by developing analytics capabilities and reporting mechanisms. Implement dashboards and metrics to track asset performance, utilization, and costs throughout their lifecycle.

• Data Lifecycle Auditing: Establish auditing processes to monitor data integrity, data access, and adherence to data management policies. Conduct periodic audits to identify and resolve data issues and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Data Governance and Strategy: Develop and implement data governance policies and standards to ensure proper data management throughout the asset lifecycle. Define data standards, guidelines, and procedures for data capture, storage, and usage.

• Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as IT, operations, procurement, and finance, to align data management processes with asset lifecycle management requirements. Communicate data-related insights and recommendations to stakeholders.

• Continuous Improvement: Monitor the effectiveness of data management practices and identify areas for improvement. Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies to enhance data architecture and support evolving asset lifecycle management needs.

• Responsible for leading the functional requirements gathering team.


Skills:

• Experience in data modeling and administration experience advocating for data management principles and working in a team environment

• Ability to analyze business and all other data processing problems for application to electronic data processing systems Knowledge of system development life cycles and methodologies

• Ability to analyze business and all other data processing problems for application to electronic data processing systems Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities

• Ability to collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and milestones

• Experience in developing logical/physical models for operational systems, data warehouses and data marts.

• Experience in database administration and impact analysis of data structure changes.

• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills.

• Strong ability to work independently and manage one’s time.

• Strong knowledge of design techniques and principles involved in production of drawings and models.

• Expertise in ERWIN, OLTP, SQL, RUP, and MS Office Tools.

Education/Experience:

• 10+ years experience required.
