Job Summary:
As the Data Lead at Richmond National Insurance Company, you will play a pivotal role in driving data-driven decision-making and ensuring the effective management and utilization of data assets. You will be responsible for overseeing the collection, analysis, and interpretation of complex data sets, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance business operations, optimize risk management, and drive strategic initiatives. Key Responsibilities:
- Data Strategy and Governance:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the organization's goals, ensuring data integrity, quality, and security.
- Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Lead the analysis and interpretation of complex data sets to extract meaningful insights, identify trends, and support data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- Create insightful reports and dashboards to communicate findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
- Data Management:
- Collaborate with IT teams to optimize data infrastructure, implement data modeling techniques, and ensure seamless integration across systems.
- Oversee the design and implementation of data collection, storage, and retrieval systems, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and efficiency.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on data-related projects and initiatives, promoting data literacy and fostering a data-driven culture.
- Work closely with business units, underwriting, claims, actuarial, and other teams to understand data requirements, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive innovation.
- Risk Management and Compliance:
- Collaborate with risk management teams to leverage data insights for effective risk assessment, mitigation, and fraud detection.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and industry standards related to data privacy, security, and reporting.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor a team of data analysts, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in data manipulation, modeling, and analysis using tools such as AWS Athena, SQL, Python, R, or similar languages.
- Strong leadership abilities and a track record of successfully managing and developing a data team.
- In-depth knowledge of insurance products, underwriting, claims processes, and industry-specific data requirements.
- Proven experience (5 years) in data management, analysis, and reporting with experience in the property and casualty insurance industry.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, AWS QuickSight) and proficiency in creating meaningful reports and dashboards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, and regulatory compliance.
