Data Entry Specialist -Sc Hcs

The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD (“The HARRIS CENTER”) is looking for a Data Entry Specialist to join our team. Under the general supervision of the designated supervisor. The Data Entry Operator provides clerical and receptionist support for the administrative and program staff of the agency. The Data Entry Operator enters services data in accordance with departmental/organizational procedures into specific informational systems databases as well as into state agency data management systems. Position is also responsible for entering data, typing and filing.

What you will do:

• Compiles with agency policy and procedures.
• Demonstrate ethical conduct, professionalism and confidentiality in all activities.
• Enters all services data in specific The Harris Center's data systems as needed.
• Maintains professional behavior and provides excellent customer service to both staff and consumers.
• Maintains tracking spreadsheet of all staff submission of service data.
• Resolves or appropriately refers questions, requests, complaints and problems.
• Performs routine clerical and administrative tasks as needed.

What qualifications you will need:

• Must have the ability to converse effectively with others.
• Ability to communicate in writing and demonstrate basic literacy.
• Effectively communicates and works with consumers, family members, visitors and fellow employees in a manner that demonstrates awareness of cultural diversities.
• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Basic understanding of data processing.
• Minimum of one (1) year of related work experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend written material and demonstrate basic literacy.
• Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and be insurable under Agency policy.
• Strong knowledge of computer applications.
• Proficient typing ability.
• Must be detailed and organized.
