Job Description
Are you looking for an opportunity to showcase your exceptional data entry skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment? We are seeking a motivated Data Entry Clerk to join our team. As a Data Entry Clerk, you will play a crucial role in transferring data from various sources into our computer files and database systems. This is a key position that requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to maintaining data integrity.
Responsibilities
Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems manually or by using scanners.
Input customers' information and create spreadsheets, ensuring accuracy by verifying them against source documents throughout the process.
Maintain the database by entering new and updated customer and account information promptly.
Compile and sort information, preparing source data for computer entry and establishing entry priorities.
Review data for deficiencies in customer and account source documents, resolve issues following standard procedures, or escalate incomplete documents to the team leader for resolution.
Input alphabetic and numeric information on the keyboard or optical scanner according to screen format, ensuring adherence to data entry requirements and techniques.
Verify entered customer and account data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or reentering information as necessary.
Consolidate data from multiple systems when account information is incomplete.
Ensure data integrity by purging files to eliminate duplication of data.
Test customer and account system changes and upgrades by inputting new data and providing feedback.
Safeguard information by completing database backups and maintaining strict confidentiality.
Maintain efficient operations by following company policies and procedures and proactively reporting needed changes.
Uphold customer confidence and protect operations by handling information with utmost confidentiality.
Contribute to the overall team effort by accomplishing related tasks and goals as needed.
Requirements And Skills
Proven work experience as a Data Entry Operator, Office Clerk, or in a similar role.
Proficiency in MS Office and data programs, demonstrating the ability to navigate various software applications efficiently.
Familiarity with administrative duties and the use of office equipment such as fax machines and scanners.
Strong typing speed and accuracy to ensure efficient and error-free data entry.
Excellent knowledge of correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation to maintain data integrity.
Meticulous attention to detail to identify and rectify any data discrepancies.
Commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately.
