POSITION SUMMARY
As a member in data analytics team for Oshkosh Corporation’s Corporate Engineering, you will work within advanced engineering groups and a cross-functional team to develop and execute our data analytics strategy and apply it to Oshkosh products. Data analytics work encompasses the acquisition, processing and machine learning of engineering or service data and application to preventive maintenance and intelligence control of on or off-road vehicles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPSONSIBILITIES
  • Work with service or engineering design teams to provide insight based on data analytics results on maintenance enhancement and product design improvement.
  • Collaborate with other team members to manipulate high-volume, high-dimensionality data in cloud or on-premise from various sources to highlight patterns, anomalies, relationships and trends with machine learning techniques using modeling tools (such as Anaconda Python or alike).
  • Conduct data processing and data analytics on Hadoop Distributed File Systems (HDFS) for different vehicle platforms
  • Conduct research under supervision on new technologies in cloud-based data analytics and establish requirements (resources, equipment, estimates, test plans, and milestones) and roadmap according to the needs of a project.
  • Apply data tools used by Oshkosh Corporation team members including, but not limited to telematics and engineering data pipelines from different functions in the corporation
  • Work with other team members in Oshkosh to establish and execute the data analytics strategy regarding telematics, cloud hosting, data file system, and preprocessing and engineering applications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduate student working towards a degree in in Data Science, Computer Sciences, Engineering, Statistics, Math, Physics or related field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Course project knowledge of data file systems (Hadoop) and data processing techniques (Kafka, Impala, or Map Reduce, etc.), data modeling and data virtualization tools
  • Excellent time management, communication and presentation skills
  • Strongly motivated in learning new technologies and skills in the data analytics fields
  • Knowledge of Python or data engineering tools
  • Automotive or heavy duty on or off-road vehicle, digital data bus, including Ethernet or Controller Area Network (CAN) experiences
