Datacenter Engineer

Dallas TX (Onsite)

6 Months

Pay rate: $60-$65/hr on W2

Location:Onsite 5 days a week- Dallas Fort Worth Metro


Responsibilities/Job Duties//Qualifications:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Datacenter Engineer to join our team. As a Datacenter Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our datacenter infrastructure, ensuring its optimal performance and reliability. Your expertise in system administration and telecom experience will be invaluable in supporting our critical IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and maintain the datacenter infrastructure, including servers, network equipment, storage devices, and other related hardware.
  2. Perform system administration tasks, such as server provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  3. Ensure the availability, performance, and security of all datacenter systems and services.
  4. Implement and maintain best practices for system and network monitoring, capacity planning, and disaster recovery.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support and deploy new applications, services, and technologies in the datacenter environment.
  6. Work closely with telecom providers to establish and maintain connectivity between the datacenter and external networks.
  7. Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and connectivity issues, including WAN, LAN, and VPN configurations.
  8. Conduct regular audits and assessments of datacenter infrastructure to identify and address potential vulnerabilities or performance bottlenecks.
  9. Develop and maintain documentation, including network diagrams, system configurations, and operational procedures.
  10. Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to datacenter operations and system administration. Requirements:
  11. Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  12. Proven work experience as a Datacenter Engineer or similar role.
  13. Strong knowledge of system administration principles and practices.
  14. Extensive experience with telecom systems, including voice and data networks.
  15. Proficient in managing and troubleshooting server hardware, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
  16. Solid understanding of networking protocols, firewall configurations, and load balancing.
  17. Familiarity with storage technologies, such as SAN, NAS, and RAID configurations.
  18. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  19. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and telecom providers.
  20. Professional certifications, such as Cisco CCNA are highly desirable.
