Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Data Analyst- Part Time.

We are seeking a Data analyst for a large-scale neuroimaging project being conducted in collaboration with the ENIGMA Consortium (https://enigma.ini.usc.edu/). The data analyst will contribute to infant magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data pipeline development, apply machine learning techniques to MRI and behavioral datasets, standardize and harmonize data shared from various sites, maintain MRI and behavioral databases, write scripts for data processing. It is expected that the data analyst will be able to acquire technical skills necessary independently and will be familiar with high performance computing. The data analyst will also be responsible for supporting data sharing as needed.

Job Responsibilities

• Apply machine learning algorithms to existing behavioral and MRI datasets
• Navigating high performance computing resources on campus
• Assist in database management
• Assist in neuroimaging pipeline development, optimization, and automation
• Summarize results of data analysis in regular meetings with project PIs
• Process neuroimaging data using tools such as FSL, ANTS, AFNI, and other relevant tools
• Develop scripts using python, MATLAB, and/or shell scripting
• Responsibility for self and others in adhering to standard safety procedures
• Adherence to standards for ethical conduct of human subject’s research, including maintaining participant confidentiality

Minimum Qualifications

To qualify you must have a Demonstrated experience (1-2 years) with machine learning

Extremely organized, ability to multi-task and problem solve, and excellent attention to detail

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Cognitive Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Neuroscience or related field

Preference will be given to Masters level applicants

Excellent organizational/multi-tasking/problem-solving skills

Strong foundation in shell scripting, Python and/or R

Willingness to learn additional programming languages (e.g., Python/R/MATLAB)

Willingness to help/jump in anywhere needed and support the team

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $33,428.57- $44,440.80 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
