Job Description
Description Twin Cities PBS (TPT) is one of the most innovative public media organizations in the country. Every day, TPT uses the power of media to advance the arts, spur learning, help young people succeed and help adults age vitally. TPT presents extraordinary PBS programming and also produces award-winning content for the national PBS system. Twin Cities PBS (TPT) is seeking a full-time Data Analyst to help drive data-informed decisions that advance our organizational mission and goals. Salary: \$75,000 - \$85,000 Annually (depending on qualifications) Hybrid Workplace: Candidates must live in or be willing to relocate to the Twin Cities Metro area. MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: DATA MONITORING AND REPORTING (30%) Maintain the key performance indicator (KPI) dashboard within TPT\'s existing framework. Review monthly data and provide regular performance updates through dashboards and presentations to staff and leaders. Support data quality control by monitoring and providing recommendations to improve data quality from different data systems. ORGANIZATIONAL ANALYTICS (40%) Work with departments, including Content, Marketing, Evaluation, Advancement, and Finance to provide ad hoc analysis about broadcast and digital audience, member, and donor trends. Meet with departments to review analyses and support teams in using data to inform decisions. Develop an understanding of audience and other data trends within public media. Utilize existing PBS-supported reporting to compliment and compare against TPT-specific reporting. Develop framework for predictive analytics based on giving patterns and audience trends. Support qualitative analyses as needed including coding open-ended survey data. SYSTEM AND PROCESS IMPROVEMENT (25%) Support the development of a centralized data function at TPT in partnership with TPT\'s Chief Inclusion and Strategy Officer and Evaluation Director by providing key insights into data needs, analytic capabilities, and coordination needed across data systems. Partner with the Information Technology department to provide input into the implementation of a data lakehouse and reporting system. Be a critical stakeholder for process improvement, providing recommendations for new analytic tools and approaches to enhance TPT\'s reporting and analytic capabilities. OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED (5% of time) Participate as an active member of the IDEA Team. Contribute to shared goals and collaborate with colleagues on achievement of priorities. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED EXPERIENCE Bachelor\'s degree. 2-4 years of experience in data analysis and reporting roles (data, marketing, financial analysis, or similar roles). Intermediate level proficiency with the use of Power BI, Tableau, Amazon Quicksight, or other data visualization programs and Excel 1-2 years of experience with Salesforce or other CRM software. 1-2 years of experience with SQL. PREFERRED SKILLS 4-7 years of experience in data analysis and reporting roles (data, marketing, financial analysis, or similar roles). Intermediate level proficiency with the use of Power BI, Tableau, Amazon Quicksight, or other data visualization programs and Excel 2-4 years of reporting and analysis experience in media, audience development, or the non-profit sector. 1-2 years of experience leading or supporting the implementation of a database, data warehouse, or analytic system. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Ability to extract data from multiple sources and analyze using appropriate quantitative methods. Ability to interpret data, discern trends, and communicate key insights or implications of data. Excellent presentation and communication skills to share data in an easy-to-understand manner. Ability to make data engaging through use of charts and visualization tools. Demonstrated ability to influence and build credibility with a variety of leaders and stakeholders. Ability to work independently and with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
