Job Description

The RTI University Collaboration Office seeks a prospect for the Data Analyst Internship within the International Development Group (IDG). 

 

This internship is a contract position. The employment contract is administered by Greene Resources Powered by Array, RTI’s supplemental staffing partner. 

 

IDG Proposals and Contracts, which oversee and support all proposal submissions for federal government opportunities through pricing, proposal management and data analytics.

 

Run qualitative and quantitative data analysis of client and competitor win rate, funding allocations, client feedback and other metrics as needed. This data will be used to influence bid decisions such as staffing decisions, technical design and approach and strategic partnerships to drive higher win rates throughout RTI's International Development Group.

 

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn the different types of client engagement as well as ways to utilize data to influence client decision making during the various stages of opportunity development
  • Learn data analyzation and visualization skills both in and out of the international development context
  • Understand the priorities and preferences of USG and non-USG clients

 

  • Conduct desk research to supplement government and RTI data
  • Gather, analyze, and present on this and other competitive intelligence for international development opportunities specifically focused on pre-proposal efforts and capture.
  • Assist with data cleaning for presentations to internal clients

Additional Information

 

This virtual paid internship will take place from June 2023 through December 2023. The internship requires a minimum commitment of 40 hours per week. Hours are flexible during business hours, Monday through Friday. 

 

Required Qualifications

  • A sophomore or junior working towards a bachelors degree in business administration, finance, economics, international development, international business or related fields including business, development or data analytics.
  • Demonstrated interest in international development and/or data analytics
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated knowledge of or familiarity with gathering and analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data
  • Excellent oral and written communication/presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to think critically and identify and understand issues, problems and opportunities from disparate sets of information and provide clear conclusions and guidance.
  • Experience using pivot tables and other tools to filter through large data
  • Ability to work closely within a trusted team environment where sharing and teamwork are valued.
  • Excellent project management, organizational and interpersonal skills including strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure; proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism.
