The Job
The Information Group is an evolving department tasked with centralizing vital data relied upon by all teams at the firm. The data comprises research, due diligence, consulting, compliance, and performance reporting; much is used to directly inform our clients and their decision-making. As an essential part of the Information Group, the Data Analyst is responsible for aggregating and reporting investment manager and market data while maintaining accuracy and data integrity. Each Data Analyst works with individual Research asset classes to ensure information and reporting needs are met; Data Analysts also perform other general team responsibilities.
The Data Team has exposure to many technology platforms across asset classes. These platforms enable Data Analysts to make a meaningful contribution toward team goals and to help drive a deeper understanding of investment firms and strategies.
What You'll Do
- Respond to ad hoc requests from other analysts based on fluctuating deadlines for client deliverables
- Maintain data integrity by owning quality control procedures for information received by investment managers and tracked in internal systems
- Identify opportunities to increase efficiency or leverage data and tools to uncover opportunities to improve data accessibility throughout the Firm
- Evaluate data for possible trends and risks, and communicate as needed to the appropriate Analysts or departments
- Assist with general Information Systems projects and other job-related duties as assigned
- Aggregate investment holdings, data statistics, and other key data points and documents from investment managers and other external data providers
- Serve as a point of contact for all investment data-related questions
- Fulfill time-sensitive data requests and manage competing deadlines while providing a high degree of support to internal stakeholders
- Maintain relationships with internal investment teams and external investment management firms
- Complete all work within the guidelines of the firm and departmental policies
What You'll Bring
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with FactSet, eVestment, PARis, or Tableau considered a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or business-related field, or equivalent industry experience
- Intermediate-to- advanced experience with Microsoft Office products; proficiency in Excel
- Knowledge of the financial service industry and/or investment industry preferred
- Commitment, dependability, and respect for other employees demonstrated by regular attendance, punctuality, and adherence to agreed-upon schedule of availability
- Strong attention to detail, strict adherence to deadlines, and advanced problem-solving skills on a consistent basis
- Flexible, team-player approach, effective time-management skills, and the ability to multi-task while staying organized and accurate
