Data Analyst 1 Jobs

This position is required to be in office @ our Bakery Square location two days per week (Tues, Thurs) and we are unable to provide relocation.

Responsible for supporting the effective use of Sheetz’ most valuable resource: Data. Supports Sheetz’ data and information strategy through data analysis and visualization in order to facilitate and enhance organizational decision-making and data utilization across the company. Provides basic data analytics support to both the Data Analyst II and the Senior Data Analyst roles.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (other duties may be assigned)

1. Assist in the development of data-driven insights that help support exploitation of strategic and tactical business opportunities, and be a champion for a data-driven, decision-making culture.
2. Under direct supervision, assist in providing enterprise-wide data science and business intelligence services as well as recommendations and support to decentralized, embedded data scientists and analysts throughout the business.
3. Support the Data Analyst and Senior Data Analyst with various ad-hoc analytic reporting.
4. Run SQL queries as needed in support of the department.
5. Assist with basic analytical tasks and projects requested by other departments.
6. Assist in the creation of policies and procedures for the access, analysis and visualization of data and associated business insights; partnering with IT and RISC.
7. Responsible for the documenting and classifying data assets and making accessible and discoverable across the organization.

REQUIREMENTS: (Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered)

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial / Data / Computer Science or related field required

Experience

• Experience with or coursework in integrating complex, inter-departmental processes and information strategies, and/or designing strategic metrics and scorecards preferred.
• Understanding of the latest data mining, machine learning and/or artificial intelligence techniques required.
• Experience with or coursework in designing and implementing information solutions required.
• Experience with or knowledge of data modeling, optimization, and application to business strategies preferred.
