Job Description
Responsibilities:
Peraton is seeking a Cyber Systems and Network Architect to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be a remote work with occasional onsite location in Baltimore, MD

Put your years of experience into a future of excellence. This Chief Architect will be working on cutting edge enterprise cyber and network design and operations. This position will support a major civilian federal customer but may be called upon to support various customers within Health Solutions.
This is an excellent opportunity to learn, grow, and be a part of a first-class organization working on complex, leading edge cyber and network technology. Position is responsible for providing engineering expertise for complex multi-service environment. The architect is responsible for engineering and supporting the cyber and network design, deployment and operations for a large government customer located in Baltimore, Maryland. This position may require from 5% to 10% travel to various domestic customer locations.

What you’ll do:
  • Provides specifications and detail schematics for unified enterprise architecture of the enterprise.
  • Provide consultative support and troubleshooting of enterprise system problems.
  • Develops advanced technological ideas and guides their development into a final deliverable.
  • Ensures system security needs established and maintained for operations development, security requirements definition, security risk assessment, systems analysis, systems design, security test and evaluation, certification and accreditation, systems hardening, vulnerability testing and scanning, incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning and provides analytical support for security policy development and analysis.
  • Provides analysis for implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to network problems.
  • Maintains technical expertise in all areas of cyber security, network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfaces.
  • Validate enterprise-level cyber security systems and network design, newly released equipment software and operating system for vulnerabilities and deficiencies. Makes changes to mitigate the risk.
  • Provide guidance to team members and provide status metrics to Government customer and Peraton management.
  • Designs and develops new systems, applications, and solutions for enterprise-wide cyber systems and networks.
  • Reviews the customer's enterprise architecture looking for opportunities to enhance systems functionality, performance, and reliability by utilizing the proven industry best-practices and architectures.
  • Analyze current cyber security and networking device configurations and determine implementation requirements.
  • Provides daily monitoring/detection of potential performance/throughput issue and develop risk mitigation solutions.
  • Develops Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for administering the monitoring and performance measurement system
  • Integrates new architectural features into existing infrastructures, designs cyber security architectural artifacts, provides architectural analysis of cyber security features and relates existing system to future needs and trends, embeds advanced forensic tools and techniques for attack reconstruction, provides engineering recommendations, and resolves integration and testing issues.
  • Develops implementation strategies, plans and processes for a nationwide rollout/upgrade of the existing equipment
  • Provides technical analysis in enterprise network planning, engineering, and design.
  • Evaluates potential new products, technical solutions, and capacity requirements to meet business needs.
Qualifications:
Required qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
  • Must have experience in engineering complex cyber security and network systems.
  • Understanding of network connectivity for cyber security devices and tools in large network environment of at least 8,00 pieces of networking equipment.
  • Cisco Certified Network Engineers must possess at least one Cisco CCIE or equivalent level of Cisco Certification
  • Must have a Bachelor's with 16 years of professional experience, Master's and 14 years of professional experience, or PhD and 10 professional years of experience,or 20+ years in lieu of a degree.
  • Must be able to obtain a Position of Trust designation
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical topics to management and non-technical audiences, as well as interface with the customer daily.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
  • Strong understanding of ISO, NIST, FISMA Security Standard and guideline.
  • Possess a second CCIE or CCDE credential or have passed a written for a second CCIE certification.
  • At least 6 years of experience in IPv6 protocols and implementations
  • At least 4 years of experience with Zero Trust / Network Segmentation projects.
  • At least 10 years of hands-on experience with Cisco devices, Palo Alto Firewalls, and cyber security CDM tools.
