Cyber Security Engineer Jobs

Purpose of the job

PriceSmart Inc is looking to hire a cybersecurity engineer with an analytical mind and a detailed understanding of cybersecurity methodologies. Cybersecurity engineers are expected to have strong attention to detail, outstanding problem-solving skills, work comfortably under pressure, and deliver on tight deadlines.

To ensure success, a cybersecurity engineer must display an excellent understanding of Network Infrastructure, Firewalls, Switches, WIFI APs, VPN, Data Loss Prevention, IDS/IPS, Web-Proxy, and Security Audits. Top candidates will be comfortable working with a variety of technologies, security problems, and troubleshooting of the network.

Key Responsibilities

AS AN EMPLOYEE OF PRICESMART, THE EMPLOYEE IN THIS POSITION HAS THE RESPONSIBILITY TO:

• Performing assessments and penetration testing
• Observe and apply PriceSmart’s Policies and Procedures
• Protect PriceSmart’s assets and working tools at all times
• Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading security measures for the protection of PriceSmart’s data, systems, and networks.
• Daily administrative tasks, reporting, and communication with the relevant departments in the organization.
• Ensuring that the organization's data and infrastructure are protected by enabling the appropriate security controls.
• Managing audit/intrusion and security technology systems.
• Architecting and engineering trusted systems into secure systems.
• Participating in the change management process.
• Adhere and apply PriceSmart’s Security, Prevention and Safety Guidelines
• Adhere and apply PriceSmart’s Code of Conduct and Company Ethics at all times
• Promote PriceSmart’s business philosophy including the 6 Rights of Merchandising
• Troubleshooting security and network problems.
• Development and implementation of secure network solutions.
• Responding to all system and/or network security breaches.
• Testing and identifying network and system vulnerabilities.

Other Tasks

• Great awareness of cybersecurity trends and hacking techniques.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Networking experience with the TCP/IP stack is a plus.
• Understanding of cybersecurity methodologies
• Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Python, C++, Java, Go, and/or Power Shell.
• Experience with Firewall Security, Cloud Security, Web Applications, Email Gateways, SIEMS and Endpoint Security.
• The ability to evaluate system changes for security implications and the knowledge to make recommendations for improvement.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• The ability to work well with others, including collaboration and communication with other departments
• Knowledge of current cybersecurity trends, as well as the continued research of emerging trends and hacking techniques.
• Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills.
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and to work under pressure
• Able to rapidly learn and apply new technology concepts under pressure.
• Solid understanding of the OSI model and renowned ports and services (may not be a requirement, but is often preferred)

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR FORMAL TRAINING, YEARS OF EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND/ORSPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE

• A degree in computer science, IT, systems engineering, or related qualification.
• Bi-lingual is a plus, Spanish speaking preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Pproficiency in one of the following languages: Python, C++, Java, Go, and/or Power Shell.
• Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills.
• Great awareness of cybersecurity trends and hacking techniques.
• Experience with Firewalls, Network Security, Cloud Security, Web Applications, Email Gateways, SIEMS, and Endpoint Security.
• Able to rapidly learn and apply new technology concepts under pressure.
• 3 years of work experience with incident detection, incident response, and forensics.
