Job Description
JOB SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Tool Crib Group Leader, the CNC Tool and Cutter Grinder works as part of a team in the Tool Crib Department preparing and maintaining cutters and tooling used in the CNC machining process.


Essential Functions


  • Visual and mechanical inspection of tools. Sorting and storage of tools.
  • Operates manual cutter grinders.
  • Promote and support the requirements and principles of the Precise Quality Management System and AS9100.
  • Program, setup and operate a CNC Cutter Grinder (ANCA FX3 Linear Tool Sharpener).
  • Tool kit preparation and setup.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • With a quality work ethic, functions as a member of a customer-driven quality team whose goal is to ensure that product quality requirements established by the customer have been achieved.
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directives.
  • Knowledge of cutting tools (Endmills, Drills, Reamers, etc.).
  • Must have sufficient knowledge and skills to be able to use computers.
  • Must have strong attention to detail.
  • Mechanical or manufacturing background or experience.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, to adhere to deadlines and the ability to be flexible.
  • Holds oneself accountable for doing whatever is needed to meet the commitments made around project outcomes.
  • Maintains adequate levels of performance and motivation despite job tasks that are routine, repetitive, and/or non-stimulating.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Thorough operational knowledge and skills of specific equipment to be operated.
  • Ability to operate assigned equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Sound knowledge of grinding wheels and grinding practices.


Education And Experience


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in cutting tool manufacturing - CNC and manual
