Salary Range: $16.53 - $20.67 hourly


Hiring Range: $16.53 - $18.60 hourly


Job Summary


Customer Service Representatives are an integral part of the Recreation Division with the City of Greeley and are responsible for providing quality customer service to patrons of the Greeley Recreation facilities. This position oversees entry desk operations and is responsible for assisting with the oversight, training, and scheduling of part-time/seasonal employees. Customer Service Representatives provide information to patrons regarding Greeley Recreation facilities, programs, services and events. These positions must also process activity registrations, memberships, facility/park shelter rentals, and point of sale transactions.


Experience, Knowledge, Skills


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years' experience general business office experience with heavy public contact including one year of customer service experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  • Spanish/English bilingual skills desirable
  • Prior cash handling experience highly desired
  • Demonstrated skill in performing 10-key calculations efficiently desired.
  • Basic experience and knowledge of computer operations and use Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Experience with RecTrac preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in entering data using a keyboard and automated accounting system and using spreadsheet and word processing applications desired.
  • High level of detail and accuracy/quality assurance.


Essential Functions


  • Collect fees, charge credit accounts correctly, and provide accurate receipts.
  • Greet the public and provide clear and accurate information.
  • Work independently and set priorities for work assignments while managing competing priorities.
  • Deliver a high degree of customer service by greeting all patrons in a timely manner; inquiring where and what they are doing in the facility to ensure safety; answering and properly directing phone calls.
  • Operate standard office equipment.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with tact and diplomacy.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with citizens and employees.
  • Accurately and efficiently enter information into computer via keyboard.
  • Work under pressure and with constant interruptions while accomplishing a heavy workload.
  • Use and develop Excel spreadsheets desired to track and order inventory.
  • Communicate effectively in one-to-one settings, using the telephone, and orally.
  • Read, write, and perform basic mathematic skills.


Work Environment And Physical Requirements


  • Communication skills enough to convey information verbally, in writing, and on telephone.
  • Employee may be required to conduct business in alternate locations within City buildings or field sites, sometimes in formal settings.
  • Employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions--as in typical office or administrative work; work performed is sedentary.
  • Employee is required to have visual acuity for close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Requires ability to manage competing priorities with frequent interruptions.
  • Vision enough to read computer screens and written documents to assist the public and complete work assignments.
  • Frequent and heavy contact with public and employees in person and via email/telephone, sometimes facing adverse or confrontational situations with internal/external customers; occasional confrontation with public/participants for enforcement of building rules.
  • Mobility enough to stand, sit and move within a confined work area.
  • Must be available to work occasional weekends and/or holidays as required by shift assignment or requested by supervisor.
  • Work environment is safe to having minimal hazards typically found in an office environment.
  • The essential functions of this job require frequent hearing and repetitive motion; continuously sitting and talking; and occasional carrying/lifting light objects (25lbs), crouching, feeling, fingering, reaching, standing, and walking.
  • Employee is subject to driving City vehicle in all weather conditions.
  • Employee is subject to working alone and/or with groups and/or attends meetings.
  • Work is performed in an open office environment with noise levels excessive at times.
