Custodian Jobs

Dining Services oversees over 30 dining locations on campus with residential dining halls, retail dining, concessions and catering. The department employs over 850 employees in a typical year. In addition to serving food to the campus community, Dining Services also works in conjunction with departments and various groups in planning their events and ensuring university requirements are met.

Under the supervision of the Assistant Food Service Manager, Location Manager or Sr. Custodial Supervisor the incumbent is responsible for the cleaning of facilities in Dining as assigned. These duties will include, but are not limited to: daily floor care, dusting, bathroom cleaning and sanitation, kitchen cleaning, cleaning of fixtures and furniture, interior trash removal, window cleaning, and additional tasks as necessary to ensure all facilities are maintained at a high level of cleanliness. Responsibilities may include overtime and weekend work. May include after-hours emergency responses and cleaning.

• Possess a valid driver’s license • Available for overtime and weekend work. Work schedules are subject to change to meet department’s needs. Department can require overtime work to meet operational needs. Department can operate and assign custodial shifts seven days a week. • Able to climb stairs and ladders • Must be able to communicate in English – both verbally and in writing – for the purpose of instruction and record keeping • Must be willing and able to respond to after-hours emergencies • Must be able to pass background check
