About This Role


Wells Fargo is seeking a Credit Risk & Approval Specialist that monitors and manages the credit exposure within the Asset Based Lending, Global Receivables & Trade ("GRT") & Channel Finance portfolios and transactions, approves loans in excess of line authority levels, continually reviews counter-party creditworthiness, and develops credit exposure methodologies in conjunction with risk analytic systems and that are aligned with Board-approved risk appetite. It is anticipated that this role will assist the Lead Credit Risk & Approval Officer for the GRT platform and perform Credit Administration work for the ABL, GRT & Channel Finance platforms.


In This Role, You Will


  • Review and analyze group loan underwriting and portfolio management performance and risk limits
  • Conduct Quality Assurance testing of the Front-Line use of delegated authority
  • Receive direction from leaders and exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Participate in less complex credit transactions or initiatives and identify opportunities for structuring, pricing, and documentation for loan transactions
  • Review requests that require research, evaluation, and exercise independent judgment to guide medium risk deliverables
  • Collaborate with the Front-Line on credit policy activities and challenge when appropriate Collect, document and report on IMTV monitoring activities performed by IRM Perform other credit administration work including credit metrics review, managed delegated authorities, review field exams & CPE's
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals Interact with internal and external customers
Required Qualifications, US:


  • 2+ years of Credit Risk & Approval, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:


  • Strong educational credentials with a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics
  • Good communication skills with the ability to influence, develop, partner, and maintain collaborative relations at all levels within the organization and externally with customers, partners, and communities
  • Influencing skills in a large and geographically dispersed organization
  • 2+ years of experience in underwriting or credit decisioning or audit for Asset Based loans, or Factoring, or Receivables transactions: Knowledge of collateral managed by a borrowing base, loan documents and experience with portfolio monitoring for these loans
  • Results-driven approach to work. Capable of working under pressure with equanimity to manage a considerable volume of information and priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and effectively build relationships within a matrixed environment to influence outcomes both within the line of business and Corporate Risk. Includes success making independent decisions (credit or underwriting) which may conflict with the consensus views
