Job Description
Summary


Reviews complex corporate and individual financial statements and tax returns utilizing statistical research and creating comprehensive financial reports for management decision making purposes.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Reviews appraisals and environmental reports. Reviews annual tax returns/financial statements.
  • Reviews customers' financial statements.
  • Makes sound underwriting recommendations including risk rating recommendations on commercial, commercial real estate and commercial construction loans.
  • Ensure that all credit files are complete, identify any documentation deficiencies, and report to loan officer and credit administration as needed for timely resolution.
  • Orders credit reports and requests information pertinent to the evaluation of loan application; analyzes applicant financial status, credit and property evaluation to determine feasibility to granting loan; refers loan to committee for approval as appropriate.
  • Prepares financial statement spreadsheets, reports, summaries and opinions for loan officers for new, renewing and existing loans, including review for compliance and generating credit rating memorandum.
  • Other duties may be assigned if necessary.
  • Report to the VP Commercial Credit Officer Manager findings that may have an adverse effect on loan collateral or a borrower's ability to repay the loan. Will be responsible for submitting required reports as necessary.
  • Determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit by performing a cash-flow analysis of each business.
  • Maintain education and professional expertise through attendance at job related seminars, conferences and workshops. Completes all annual compliance training.
  • Provides credit information and references to loan officers and authorized external sources.
  • Deliver meaningful, detailed credit analysis while providing efficient, timely service to loan officers.
  • Completes a thorough, in-depth analysis of new credit requests, credit change requests, renewals and annual relationship reviews. Recommend risk rating changes when analysis merits. Performs ratio, cash flow and collateral analyses needed to provide sound credit approval recommendations.


QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelors Degree in business, finance or accounting or equivalent. At least 5-7 years previous financial services credit analyst (including commercial credit) preferred.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, customer service and organizational skills. Advanced spreadsheet analysis experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as memos, loan documents, disclosures, training manuals, help screens and policy and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers of the Bank.
