Job Qualifications:
Education and Experience:Juris Doctorate and Bachelor’s Degree in business or public administration or related field preferred; five or more years of experience managing a court-related program, to include lead or supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Licensing Requirements:
Member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia. May require a valid Georgia driver’s license.
Physical Requirements:
Physical Ability: Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station.

Job Summary:
The Superior Court of Fulton County Metro Atlanta Business Case Division (the “MABCD”) is seeking an individual who has the ability to analyze complex legal issues, to interface with attorneys to actively manage the progress of cases, and to daily manage the program among the various member courts and personnel. This position reports to the presiding judge of the MABCD.
The Fulton Superior Court is Georgia's busiest trial court of general jurisdiction. The Fulton Superior Court seeks to provide a forum in which legal disputes between citizens can be resolved in a fair and efficient process with attention to equal access, impartiality, efficiency, and safety. After joining the Fulton Superior Court, you will become part of a fast-paced team dedicated to providing the citizens of Fulton County with the service they deserve.
Essential Duties:
This job description indicates, in general, the nature and level of work, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other essential functions (as covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act) expected of the incumbent. The MABCD is a division of the Fulton County Superior Court, and its current member courts include Fulton Superior Court, Fulton State Court, Gwinnett Superior Court and Gwinnett State Court. The Program Administrator performs duties related to the administration of assigned court programs and staff within the Office of Superior Court Administration. The MABCD specializes in resolving high-dollar, complex, commercial and business cases.
The MABCD focuses on facilitating the just resolution of complex commercial cases in a timely and cost efficient manner while meeting the special needs of complex civil cases such as the large amounts of documentary evidence, complex discovery issues, high ratio of dispositive motions, and complex questions of substantive law.
Responsibilities include investigating and resolving questions, issues, and technical problems related to assigned court program, and overseeing the daily operations of the MABCD.
Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff: develops and oversees employee work schedules to ensure adequate coverage and control; compiles and reviews timesheets; approves/processes employee concerns and problems and counsels or disciplines as appropriate; develops performance measures for staff; provides feedback to employees on performance, customer compliments/complaints; assists with or completes employee performance appraisals; and trains staff in operations, policies, and procedures.
Organizes, prioritizes, and assigns work: prioritizes and schedules work activities in order to meet objectives; ensures that subordinates have the proper resources needed to complete the assigned work; monitors status of work in progress and inspects completed work; and consults with assigned staff to assist with complex/problem situations and provide technical expertise.
Provides direction and administrative support to the judiciary as related to court program and processing of legal cases: coordinates scheduling; conducts research; provides information and competent staff for court proceedings; provides directives and recommendations on cash flow; and provides testimony as needed. Investigates and resolves questions, issues, and technical problems related to assigned court program(s); and prepares technical and analytical reports and administrative correspondence.
Uses effective writing skills to draft legal correspondence, orders, briefs, legal memorandums and other documents for complex civil matters; analyzes case facts and uses traditional research methods, Internet, and legal research databases for researching complex civil issues; properly cites legal authority and verifies legal authority cited in motions, briefs, legal memorandums and other legal documents; realizes and applies ethical and confidentiality standards when working with case information and the public, judges, attorneys, litigants, and other court staff; and works along with business court judges in formulating marketing and promotional strategy and materials for the MABCD.
Manages division budget: analyzes budget and provides feedback on cost saving strategies; analyzes programs for cost effectiveness and makes related recommendations.
Processes a variety of documentation associated with department/division operations, within designated timeframes and per established procedures: receives and reviews various documentation, including invoices, program activity reports, case management reports, petitions, and orders; reviews, completes, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate.
Prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, and other documentation, including staffing reports, flow charts, website content, case reports, and program activity reports; compiles data for further processing or for use in preparation of department reports; and maintains computerized and/or hard copy records.
Establishes and maintains quality control procedures for assigned court program: ensures compliance with County codes and all applicable federal, state, and local laws governing assigned program.
Qualifications:
