Position Summary

Provide comprehensive financial accounting support and federal and state income tax returns for County Farm Bureaus.

Primary Duties

• Serve as point of contact to counties and field personnel for all accounting related inquiries.
• Prepare, analyze and produce monthly and annual financial statements for County Farm Bureaus.
• Complete quarterly and annual payroll and 1099 tax forms for County Farm Bureaus.
• Support field staff in understanding and analysis of county financial results and activities.
• Manage Sage 100 data and reporting integrity.
• Review monthly bank reconciliations of insurance accounts for field offices.
• Prepare annual, federal and state income tax returns for County Farm Bureaus.

Additional Duties

• All other duties as assigned
• Prepare monthly analysis of corporate general ledger accounts for financial statement and tax preparations.
• Reconcile corporate bank accounts and perform necessary journal entries to support production of financial statements.

Minimum Educational/Experience Qualifications

• BS degree in Accounting with at least 3 years of relevant accounting experience, including financial statement preparation; or Associate degree in Accounting with at least 6 years of relevant accounting experience, including financial statement preparation; or equivalent work experience.

• Proficient understanding of general accounting principles and procedures
• Proven ability to work effectively, independently and in a team environment
• Ability to prepare and analyze basic financial statements
• Basic understanding of income tax, payroll tax and 1099 reporting
• Strong math and analytical skills
• Ability to analyze ledger accounts and prepare journal entries
• Ability to incorporate Emotional Intelligence skills in everyday work situations
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous non-profit accounting experience
• Previous experience using Sage 100
