Cost Accountant Pay Up To 120K

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cost Accountant with 3-5+ years experience in manufacturing cost. Pay is up to 120k/year for an incredibly growing company in Thousand Oaks, California area. The position is 100% on site with excellent benefits.

The Cost Accountant duties is responsible for setting up the maintenance of accurate process cost information, reconciliation of standard costs to actual cost, maintenance of perpetual inventory system, participating in month end close and budgeting process and assisting with day-to-day operations and reporting requirements. This position will be responsible for developing/maintaining an effective cost accounting system to reduce cost and improve overall profitability. The incumbent will possess the ability to work independently as well as within a team and have exemplary communication skills

This position is responsible for maintaining strong professional relationships across company departments, stakeholders, the public and other regulatory agencies. In this role, the incumbent will provide guidance and leadership within and outside the finance department. The work completed in this position involves formulating sound financial strategies, implementing proper internal controls, achieving organizational targets, and working collaboratively in the organization to achieve company goals. The incumbent will be responsible for monitoring changes in laws or policies that impact the organization in relation to taxes and regulatory compliance.

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

· Perform inventory valuation steps as part of normal close process including reconciliation, valuation analysis, post journal entries and prepare financial reports in relations to margin analysis.

· Calculate inventory reserves including: excess & obsolete, lower of cost and net realizable value, inventory variance capitalization, and period end cutoff.

· Maintain processes and controls related to inventory and project accounting including cycle count processes.

· Calculate overhead rates for use internally as well as for government tax compliance.

· Knowledge of transfer pricing cost between subsidiary to reduce overall tax burden of the parent company.

· Distribute biweekly Labor Hour Variance report between MRP system and Payroll system and research/communicate any variance to plant supervisors.

· Investigate data and current cost allocation methodology to eliminate waste, driving improvement in working capital, processes, and cost.

· Responsible for maintaining item costs to assure accuracy of material costs and labor as well as overhead cost.

· Analyzes changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods and services provided to determine effects on costs.

· Responsible for monitoring production yield and comparison to standard yield.

· Analyze gross margin, labor and overhead, other costs of sales, inventory trends and turnover ratios, and production yield data.

· Ensure timely completion of the month-end process for settlement of production orders, WIP orders and Finished Goods.

· Assist in the processing of engineering changes to BOM (Bill of Materials), and BOO (Bill of Operation) and perform subsequent roll-ups and roll-overs of standards and report accordingly.
