Job Description
Located in SW Cedar Rapids, ACP, Inc. is a division of the ALI Group, and since 1969, has been a leader in manufacturing and designing commercial high-speed and microwave ovens used in some of your favorite restaurants. We are seeking an Accountant to lead our cost accounting function!
The Cost Accountant, reporting to and being the back-up to the VP Finance, will be responsible for the cost accounting function and fixed asset management system. This person may start in an independent contributor role, and will have the opportunity to move into the business accounting manager, with AR/AP reporting through this role.
Key Accountabilities
  • Maintaining standard costs and monitoring of perpetual inventory
  • Review and analysis of production transactions through Microsoft Dynamics to ensure inventory and costing accuracy
  • Ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, most specifically relating to accurate and timely reporting and analysis of material costs and inventory valuation
  • Plan and manage multiple projects and provide problem analysis and problem resolution
  • Perform account reconciliation, cost analysis and month-end close responsibilities
Requirements
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, utilizing MS Excel at an advanced or expert level, and will be an ERP/MRP super user.
  • Must be self-directed and have the ability to manage and work in a multi-task and priority environment.
  • Preferred candidate to have a minimum of 3 years related cost accounting experience including experience working in a small to medium sized manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Prior supervisory experience a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred; may consider equivalent combined education and experience.
  • Ability to identify, analyze and implement processes to address accounting issues and improve overall business processes.
