Job Details

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cost Accountant (aka Controller) to join our dynamic team in the manufacturing industry. As the Cost Accountant (aka Controller), you will be responsible banking activities, cost accounting system maintenance, performs journals and account reconciliations, hold a key role in the month-end closing process by analyzing activity to detect missing activity or activity posted to the wrong account. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers competitive compensation and benefits packages. (Fully Onsite - 5 days a week - flexibility for Family Life Needs)

• Title is flexible (can be Plant Controller) -- Salary is $80-100k

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end closing activities, including journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and accruals
• Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, policies, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
• Prepare and present financial reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators and trends
• Conduct cost analyses to identify areas for cost savings and process improvements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and manage budgets and forecasts
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
• Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations
• Maintain a high level of proficiency in SAP and other accounting software applications
• Monitor and analyze inventory levels, purchase orders, and invoices to ensure accurate cost allocation and inventory valuation

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of experience in Accounting
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• 5+ years of experience in Cost Accounting, preferably in the manufacturing industry
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, practices, and procedures
• Proficiency in SAP and other accounting software applications
• CPA or CMA certification preferred
