Cost Accountant
Introduction to BlueOval SK
At BlueOval SK, we will lead the transformation of the electric vehicle (EV) battery business through partnership (Joint Venture formed by Ford and SK On) to provide products and processes to increase our customers’ experience. As the future of BlueOval SK, you will help lead the battery revolution by working alongside our teams as we build the batteries required for electric vehicle business excellence.
Ford and SK On are investing billions in Kentucky and Tennessee including building three state-of-the art battery manufacturing facilities between the two campuses at BlueOval City in Tennessee and BlueOval SK Battery Park in Kentucky. These brand-new advanced manufacturing facilities will use Ford’s 100-years of automobile manufacturing expertise and SK On’s 30+ years of electric vehicle battery expertise to become the world’s best battery manufacturer.
The Cost Accountant at BlueOval SK – BlueOval Battery Park in Stanton, Tennessee will have a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a key member of the start-up team, launching the facility from the ground up.
Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Maintain cost allocation methodology for direct and indirect expenditures
  • Work with external auditors quarterly and at year-end; includes providing audit work papers, requested supporting documentation, walks auditors through calculations and provides data
  • Analyze general ledger account data for accuracy and adjusting accounts if necessary
  • Perform month-end cost closing of varying complexity including appropriate expense accruals plus review of actuals versus plan to ensure completeness and accuracy of monthly financial information
  • Lead the development, review, and analysis of standard costs including development of material, labor and overhead rates
  • Support development of forecast and annual financial model that forecast variable / fixed expenses and CAPEX
  • Analyze and report on manufacturing cost, inventory trends
  • Support analytics for strategic decisions
Minimum Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in finance and/or accounting.
  • Fluency in Korean would be a plus
  • Comprehensive understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Strong analytical skills necessary to review/analyze accounting and financial data, substantiate financial statement balances and prepare financial statement account reconciliation
  • Previous manufacturing experience in SAP costing, inventory, production orders and working directly with a plant would be a plus
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting or related field
  • Plant cost accounting experience
Additional Requirement
  • While the position can be remote, regular travel is required to the BlueOval SK Corporate office located in Memphis, Tennessee during the monthly closing period
