Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking a full-time Corporate Pilot in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for the oversight of and flying as Pilot In Command (PIC) or Second In Command (SIC) as needed for Garmin’s Flight Operations business unit in Olathe, Kansas. The Corporate Pilot flies a variety of aircraft to suit the needs of Garmin’s business.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
  • Works with maintenance personnel to ensure aircraft are scheduled, maintained and readily available for company transportation
  • Ensures aircraft are prepared for flight with all provisions on board for safety/comfort of passengers
  • Works with all Garmin Olathe business units in the scheduling and execution of company air transportation missions
  • Provides instructional and recurrent training to company pilots as required and serves as a mentoring resource to all company pilots
  • Conducts internal flight proficiency checks and training as needed, under the direction of the Lead Transportation Pilot and Safety Coordinator
  • Contributes to company aviation safety program, training, operational standards, and the efficient conduct and oversight of company aircraft transportation missions
  • Adheres to company pilot training and operational standards
  • Identifies areas of improvement in utilization of Garmin products and software-related tools used by Flight Operations and works with those appropriate to enhance Garmin products
  • Flies as Pilot In Command or Second in Command for Garmin transportation trips.
  • Actively participates in the Flight Operations Safety Management System (SMS) to identify safety concerns and recommend strategies to minimize risk
  • Makes recommendations on air transportation fleet composition and size, as well as installed equipment on aircraft required to fit company operational requirements
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with Airplane, Single and Multiengine Land ratings or equivalent issued by an International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) country
  • FAA Certificated Flight Instructor certificate or the equivalent issued by an ICAO country
  • Minimum 2,000 hours as Pilot In Command of powered aircraft
  • Current FAA Class I or II medical certificate
Desired Qualifications
  • CE525/BE300/CE560XL type rating or similar experience
  • 1,000 hours as Pilot In Command of turbine powered aircraft
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years experience in a corporate flight department as a pilot
  • 4,000 hours as Pilot In Command of powered aircraft
