BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

The Corporate Communications Manager will lead the development of communications campaigns for both our internal and external audiences. This position requires you to work cross functionally to tell stories that drive preference, increases brand awareness, and enhances our reputation. This role is well suited for a skilled storyteller who can mine stories from within the organization and bring them to light. This person will also be charged with also leading our People Manager Communications program.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the effort to help our employees understand our company strategy
  • Lead, develop and drive focused communication plans drive awareness of MSC to our priority stakeholders.
  • Write, edit, format a variety of communications for both internal and external use which may include news articles, infographics, video scripts, blogs and social media posts.
  • Develop creative campaigns with multiple touchpoints to educate, increase awareness and drive engagement with MSC.
  • Create content for employer branding and talent acquisition efforts.
  • Help create and own the development of MSC’s Newsroom. Ensure appropriate content and a good cadence of stories.
  • Own and drive our People Manager Communications program which includes related materials such as talking points, digital signage for sites to use to communicate about the business.
  • Craft compelling and impactful communications that are easy to understand and that tie our strategy and company goals together.
  • Assist with updating our Crisis Communications Playbook and related preparedness support.
  • Plan and manage the Corporate Communications calendar for internal and external communications campaigns
  • Measure and track campaign performance and make necessary adjustments.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Working knowledge of AP (Associated Press) Style required.
  • Experience with a newsroom concept and the ability to tell stories both internally and externally
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Journalism or Corporate Communications

SKILLS:

  • Ability to adapt to situations and work in a fast-paced, often-changing environment required.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple priorities, keeping projects on schedule and on budget required.
  • Working knowledge of AP (Associated Press) Style required.
  • Strong written, oral and personal presentation skills, ability to adapt and engage internal and external audiences, comfortable coaching others through the communications process.
  • Creative, innovative thinker with a solutions-oriented mindset required.
  • Ability to think strategically and be able to break down complex materials into easy-to-understand content.
  • Building cross-functional relationships and navigating the complexities of an organization to deliver results required.
  • Outstanding writing and editing skills required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel up to 10% of the time may be required.

    Compensation starting at $79590 – $113700 / year and up dependent on candidate location and experience.
