Coordinator - Room Service (Full-Time) Starting At $16.00/Hr, Plus Tips - Sea Island

Basic Job Function:Receive, and processes orders, accounts, reports, and files restaurant revenue producing business. Use of Company Vehicle: Not designated to drive a company vehicle Minimum Requirements: Minimum one (1); preferred two (2) years Food & Beverage experiencePrevious beverage service experience in a luxury hotel, resort or fine dining restaurant preferredUnderstanding of Forbes 5-Star dining standards preferredGeorgia law requires that one must be over the age of 18 to dispense or serve alcoholic beveragesTIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) certified preferredHigh School Diploma or equivalent credentials preferredExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalFamiliarization with Micros POS (point-of-sales) system preferredProficient in Windows XP and Microsoft Office software applications such as: Word, Excel, and OutlookProficient with peripherals, copier, fax, telephone, and calculatorAbility to work simple math calculationsMust have ability to accurately handle money, make change, process credit card transactions Minimum typing skill of 45+ wpmMust have ability to courteously present information to people in one-on-one and group situationsAbility to work independently and take responsibility of making independent decisions when necessaryConsistently aspires to fulfill our core Company values (Respect, Integrity, Passion, Teamwork, Accountability, Caring, Loyalty & Trust)Exhibits the Sea Island Five-Star Behavior Standards with guests, members, and co-workersMust possess a positive attitude and can work with a variety of people and in cooperation with coworkers efficiently and effectivelyMust be detail oriented and able to manage competing priorities and multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environmentAbility to easily adapt to organizational and environmental changesMust be flexible to working days, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidaysReport to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in compliance with company Dress Code Policy Tasks/Responsibilities: Maintain a passing score on menu and beverage testingReceiving incoming telephone calls promptly and politely, demonstrating proper phone etiquetteSuggestively sell menu items to maximize food & beverage revenueRecord in room dining orders accurately and immediately into the register system/Micros POS (point-of-sales) systemEnsure servers check identification in order to verify age requirements for purchase of alcoholAttempt to limit problems and liability related to customers' excessive drinking by following TIPS trainingInform guest on procedures and answer all questionsParticipate in staff side workCoordinate food & beverage orders with servers, chefs and the supervisor on dutyAct as cashier when cash, C/L accounts or credit cards are presentedReceive and dispatch orders for bakery items and boxed lunchesMaintain current price lists for wine, beverage, bakery items, a'la carte in room dining, and extra mealsReceive and process all batches of food checks from all food service locations and turn in to revenue control centerLearn the names and personally recognize our regular Guests and MembersRecord and bill orders accurately into the register system and process payments using guest/member cardsAccurately summarize meals served for reporting purposes per established procedureMaintain office supply inventory, knowledge of all office equipment, computers, and manual systemsType and process all amenity ordersMaintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area to answer any questions guests may have to the best of one’s abilityIf applicable, complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form on any issues (solved or unsolved issues) and follow-up on issues as needed (if computer access is not available give information to admin support)Maintains cleanliness and organization in all work areasUphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timingUphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and proceduresReport all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediatelyAttends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvementWilling and timely execution of other duties as delegated by leadership Physical Requirements: Ability to kneel, crouch, squat, climb, stand, sit, balance, reach, bend, push, pull and walk for prolonged periodsIf applicable, must have the ability to work for extended time periods in an outdoor environment, including sun, heat, cold, wind, rain, and higher than normal noise levelsAbility to perform repetitive tasks with accuracyAbility to lift, carry, pull, and push up to 25 lbs intermittently throughout a shiftAbility to read, write and communicate effectively in English, both written and verbalMay be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical and fume hazardsAbility to maintain compliance with Sea Island’s Company Resort Professional Image Policy
