We are seeking a Deep Learning Research Software Engineer Intern or Co-Op to assist with the design, development, and maintenance of machine learning algorithms for our self-driving vehicles.
Assist with the design and implementation of the following:
- End-to-end pipeline for annotation, training and deployment of machine learning algorithms
- Coordinate with other engineers and technical experts in developing machine learning algorithms from collected data
- Ability to apply deep learning with segmentation tasks
- Research machine learning and deep learning algorithms and methods for improvement
- Familiarity in domain adaptation / model interpretability is a plus
- Propose novel approaches for unsolved research problems in autonomy
- Services and dashboards for training progress and validation metrics
- Experience using AWS for training
Torc Internships and Co-Ops provide a great way for you to hone your skills and see what life at Torc is all about. Our goal is to enable Interns and Co-Ops to become full-time Torc'rs.
- 0-2 years of Machine Learning/Vision Algorithms/Deep Learning experience
- Experience in the following areas:
- Previous software development experience
- PhD Candidates with research experience in the Autonomous field
- Candidate must be a full-time student currently pursuing a graduate degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Object-oriented design
- Python
- Rapid development and prototyping in Python
- AWS
- ROS
- Computer vision and machine learning
- GPU compute
- Creating clean C++ code
- Image processing
- Familiarity with at least one of the following, or similar platforms:
- TensorFlow, Pytorch
Hiring for Fall Co-Op:
- August 2023 to December 2023, with potential to extend longer based on performance.
- Location(s): Austin, Texas; Blacksburg, Virginia; Remote; Hybrid
- The visible pay rate is for a master's student.
- If available, late summer 2023 start date.
