As a Conveyor and Automation Technician, you are primarily responsible for supporting the distribution center operations by monitoring, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing the conveyor and automation systems. This position ensures that all safety procedures are followed and there is minimal downtime for production.

  • Performs scheduled on-call duties and is available for overtime on an as-needed basis
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Maintains a safe and clean work area
  • Monitors, diagnoses, troubleshoots, services, and repairs the conveyance system, CVP AutoPackers, and inbound/outbound sortation systems
  • Performs preventative maintenance tasks as assigned
  • Performs regular inspections to ensure that all safety measures are followed
  • Follows all safety rules and procedures
  • Schedules third-party repairs and preventative maintenance for equipment as needed
  • Coordinates with other employees to ensure that installs and repairs to electrical components such as motors, gears, pulleys, and control panels are handled correctly and efficiently
  • Maintains parts inventory by keeping accurate counts and ensuring parts are readily available for all conveyor and automation systems repairs


Education and/or Experience

  • Experience with a facility lock-out/tag-out program. (Compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147 control of hazardous energy)
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or distribution environment


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to quickly adapt as business needs change
  • Ability to multi-task, as well as strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work off-shift as needed to respond to urgent needs
  • Strong time management skills


Physical Demands

  • Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
  • Requires the ability to lift/carry 50-75 lbs regularly and push/pull up to 150 lbs.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing
  • Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching
  • Perform work while sitting, standing, and/or walking, up to and including 12 hours per day
