We have an immediate need for a Controller.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Reviews labor reports, comparing hours and rates to budget; escalates trends and OT violations.
  • Assists with the Bi-Weekly processing of payroll for 600+ employees.
  • Monthly reconciliation of bank accounts; Providing DBOs with outstanding debit card charges needed for reconciling.
  • Prepares journal entries for month end close.
  • Assists communities with monthly billing.
  • Prepares reports for monthly payroll and PTO accruals.
  • Develops training materials to support DBOs - including onsite training and support (as needed).
  • Performs such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time by the Sr. Controller.
  • Monitors AR for each community requesting updates on delinquent accounts. Assessing late fees as needed.
  • Lead Manager for Yardi Software and Payroll System.
  • Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current processes, recommending changes.
  • Prepares consolidated internal and external financial statements and reports by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from the communities.
  • AP processing for all communties; Includes batch review and posting, auto draft set up and recording of payments via auto draft.
  • Assists with yearly budgeting process for each community.


Education/Experience/ Licensure/Certification


  • 3-4 years of work experience in finance.
  • Bachelor of Accountancy Degree
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles/controls and excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Strong working knowledge and skills related to software programs including Excel, and familiarity with accounting and payroll software is also essential.
