Position Purpose

Responsible for assisting the CFO with corporate financial services including overseeing financial planning, transaction processing, reporting, analysis, payroll processing, compliance, and internal controls of the Northern Colorado (NOCO) operations.


Essential Functions:

  • Maintain work productivity over differing conditions
  • Remain Compliant with drug and alcohol policies
  • Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Adhere to all state and company policies and procedures


Principal Accountabilities:

Financial Planning, Processing, Reporting and Analysis

  • Perform month end (due by 10th business day following month end) and year-end financial reporting process for NOCO, including reviewing data for accuracy and insuring reporting deadlines are met.
  • Assist CFO with the Corporate annual budget process by establishing schedules, monitoring data, and working with other leaders to ensure data is accurate.
  • Review margins and expenses to assist other departments with cost management and adherence to budgets.
  • Oversee industry financial reporting.

Payroll

  • Ensure 401K deductions and other deductions are remitted accurately and timely
  • Oversee the processing of NOCO offer letters and anniversary increase letters.
  • Process the NOCO payroll bi-weekly.

Compliance and Internal Controls

  • Assist in analyzing processes and procedures including financial results and recommend changes to improve internal controls and financial performance.
  • Assure compliance with all Federal, State and local laws.
  • Assist CFO with review of contracts, filing of local and state taxes, and maintaining licensing.
  • Review, monitor, and enforce processes and procedures to ensure good controls are in place.
  • Assist CFO with the annual year-end financial audit process

Other

  • Assist the CFO and President with special projects.
  • Assist President, CFO, Dept. Managers and Supervisors and sales staff as requested.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

The Controller position will adhere to the HCB Confidentiality Agreement and will not without Company’s written consent, at any time, directly or indirectly, use, disclose or otherwise communicate any Confidential Information to any person or entity.


Leadership

This position is considered a leader in the organization. As such, the Controller will always maintain a professional appearance and attitude. Position will be asked to perform duties “above and beyond the normal” from time to time and expected to professionally perform such duties. Position expected to be a positive role model for other employees.


Supervision

This position is currently not assigned any direct supervisory duties.

CPA or equivalent degree in accounting.
Public or equivalent Accounting Experience (5+ years), preferred.
