Job Description

Job Summary:


The Corporate Controller is responsible for direction, management, and completion of the sbe' monthly financial functions including accounts payable, accounts receivables, payroll, accounting processes in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, financial analysis, and budgeting. The position will supervise accounting staff in carrying out all daily, weekly, monthly, and annual financial/accounting activities. The Corporate Controller ensures all financial transactions are properly recorded and the role is expected to constantly strive to make the business process more effective and efficient while strengthening the underlying internal control system.

Direct Supervisor: Chief Business Officer
Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Present financial statements and budgets
  • Recommends and develops policies, procedures, and systems to meet company objectives.
  • Coordinate with finance group of company's parents to meet all financial reporting requirements.
  • Builds, develops, and manages finance team.
  • Works with internal and external CPAs on annual audits of various financial statements.
  • Support senior management with financial analysis to grow into new markets and new products.
  • Audits the work of the accounting department.
  • Work with other team members to understand revenue and cost drivers and define appropriate reports for tracking.
  • Assists senior management in financial planning and results management.
  • Manages the daily accounting activities of the Company's financial functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, financial reporting, budgeting, financial analysis, ad hoc projects, and annual audit.
  • Analyzes company's financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance with budgets, issue regular status and ad hoc reports to senior management.
  • Assist with the implementation and documentation of special and new projects as needed. Ad-hoc strategic analysis.
  • Lead budgets from assumptions and risk perspective, identifying areas for opportunity and savings. Review General Ledger, Bank Reconciliations, and Review Monthly Tax Filings with onsite controller and General Manager.
  • Ensures timely and accurate budget analysis and financial review for management team.


Competencies:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.
  • Hospitality industry experience required.
  • Advanced leadership skills, mentoring, coaching and supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience in presenting and discussing financial information.
  • Strong accounting knowledge
  • Ability to adapt in fast-paced work environment
  • Able to review and analyze financial statements.
  • Financial planning and analysis experience required.
  • Strong written and oral persuasive communication skills


Skills:

  • Strong computer skills, including Excel and PowerPoint, and ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Eight to ten (8-10) years of experience with five (5) years of direct leadership experience
  • Advanced Accounting skills
  • Must be able to communicate and function in an interdisciplinary team.
  • Self-starter with a strong team-oriented disposition with the ability to effectively support and encourage team members.
  • Strong Microsoft Office/Excel
  • Strong ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both internal and external parties.
  • Ability to focus on execution and results; is metrics and data drives and promotes transparent responsibility and accountability.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
  • Advanced Leadership skills
  • GL & Balance Sheet analysis


Requirements


Work Authorization

Must be able to provide documentation that shows you are authorized to work in the United States. Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.


Education / Experience / Credentials

Eight to ten (8-10) years of experience with five (5) years of direct leadership experience


Language

Must have the ability to speak, read, write, and interpret business documents in the English language.


Travel

Must have access to reliable transportation locally, as this position also requires some time to be spent at the corporate office and at business units locally.


COVID-19 Precautions

This position will be based at the corporate office, although there is flexibility to work remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic. Personal protective equipment is always required when at the office, as well as following social distancing guidelines, and health and safety measures of hand sanitizing and cleaning procedures.
