The purpose of the content expert position is to provide content expertise for online, hybrid, and/or blended course design models for Unitek Learning college institutions. The content expert will collaborate with instructional designers skilled in online, hybrid, and blended course delivery practices to prepare the best possible course for a positive student experience. Instructional design support and training will be available for all job responsibilities and templates will be provided.


This is a contract, remote position with responsibilities of approximately 10-15 hours per week working on content development and weekly update meetings. This position will be classified as an “At-will”. The position is expected to be short-term and last approximately 8 weeks or until the project is completed. The Subject is BSN Mental Health Nursing.
  • Write original self-assessments or quizzes (if appropriate for course outcomes)
  • Reading assignments
  • Websites
  • Provide a final review and sign-off of the completed course in the learning management system (LMS)
  • Practice activities with feedback, hints, and rationales
  • Develop answer keys and instructor guides that will support faculty in teaching the online components of the course
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Create the course structure in a modular format, including module names and outcomes that align to course outcomes
  • Original instructional content to supplement curated content (recorded lectures, infographics
  • Write original assessment items for exams (if appropriate for course outcomes), including alignment to course content/outcomes and rationales
  • Identify and develop formative and summative assessments with rubrics, including discussion questions
  • Suggest edits to the syllabus to fit the appropriate delivery method
  • Videos
  • Identify and/or create module content with context for students, including but not limited to:
  • Write outlines/facilitator guides to support teaching faculty who will engage in synchronous sessions (theory, lab, and clinical) – this may be in PowerPoint, Word, or some other format
  • Create exam blueprints (if appropriate for course outcomes)
  • Develop a course blueprint that demonstrates alignment of course content to module/course outcomes


Qualifications


  • Familiar with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Canvas.
  • Experience working remotely in a self-motivated role
  • Education level must be appropriate to the level of instruction required. Specific degree requirements are detailed by the regulatory and accrediting bodies associated with the college and program. In general, a degree higher than the degree granted by the program under development is preferred (Bachelor’s required for Associate’s level development; Master’s required for Bachelor’s level development; doctorate required for Master’s level development, and so on).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the field (subject area)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products including MS Word, PPT, Excel, and OneDrive.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in education (online teaching or development position preferred)
