Job Description

Are you eager to be mentored by a professional engineer? If so, you may be perfect for this position! Bunnell Lammons Engineering, Inc. (BLE) has immediate full-time openings for Construction Quality Assurance Technician.


What You'll Be Doing Day To Day
  • Perform field tests using specialized equipment designed to collect data from various construction materials, i.e; nuclear density gauge, penetrometer, and hand tools.
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 75 LBS)
  • Accurately preparing field inspection/testing reports
  • Verifying proper piping installations
  • Monitor general construction onsite activities:
  • Measuring soil depth, compaction/density, and content.
  • Working outdoors in all-weather types (hot, cold, in the rain, snow, sleet, and high wind)
  • Reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
  • Work as a team member alongside site managers, general contractors, and engineers to perform the required inspections or sampling services at various environmentally regulated solid waste landfill construction projects.
  • Observing erosion and sediment control barriers
  • Checking closure caps
  • Sitting, climbing, walking, balancing, kneeling, and crouching on uneven an/or unstable terrain.
  • Actively collect concrete, soil, and other site materials for testing to ensure construction standards and specifications are being met.
  • Participating in company safety and planning meetings
  • Getting dirty, playing in the dirt and mud
  • Driving to and from construction job sites in the Southeast (road warrior 100% travel)
  • Geosynthetic baseliners installations

Minimum Qualifications


  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions (reading a ruler, add, subtract, divide, multiple, convert fractions to decimals and calculate areas).
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic knowledge in the operation of smartphones and computers for communication and recording time worked.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean Motor Vehicle Report
  • Ability to work outdoors on construction sites in all seasons for extended time periods and workdays of up to 12 hours per day.
  • Showing up on time!
  • Able to work out of town for several weeks at a time. (Work schedules can vary depending upon the time of year, but typically follows normal construction daylight hours. As a Quality Assurance Technician, schedule, flexibility is preferred.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain ACI, NICET and ICC certifications.
  • Ability to work using hand tools and electronic testing equipment.
  • Ability to obtain security clearances for highly regulated government facilities. (i.e., Clean criminal background)
