About Our Client
Our client is a diversified real estate firm that specializes in development, design, and construction. The Construction Sr. Superintendent (Metro Detroit) will lead with a team of real estate experts, financial advisors, architects, engineers, and construction professionals. They deliver solutions by integrating with an ownership team and actively managing projects from concept through completion, assuming 100% responsibility for all phases of each project.

The construction superintendent will:
  • Train workers in construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures, or company policies.
  • Coordinate work activities with other construction project activities.
  • Estimate material or worker requirements to complete jobs.
  • Record information, such as personnel, production, or operational data on specified forms or reports.
  • Analyze worker or production problems and recommend solutions, such as improving production methods or implementing motivational plans.
  • Provide assistance to workers engaged in construction or extraction activities, using hand tools or other equipment.
  • Assign work to employees, based on material or worker requirements of specific jobs.
  • Confer with managerial or technical personnel, other departments, or contractors to resolve problems or to coordinate activities.
  • Locate, measure, and mark site locations or placement of structures or equipment, using measuring and marking equipment.
  • Arrange for repairs of equipment or machinery.
  • Order or requisition materials or supplies.
  • Suggest or initiate personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, or hires.

The Successful Applicant
The successful Construction Superintendent candidate will have:
  • Minimum of 10 years successful Superintendent experience with a reputable commercial contractor.
  • Experience in scheduling, field supervision, quality control, and production of all phases of commercial construction.
  • College degree preferred but not required. Desirable study concentration in construction management.
  • Experienced in managing multiple projects.
  • Need ground up experience
  • Experience with scheduling
  • OSHA 10 certification is required
