Department Overview Motorola Solutions is a world leader in the field of professional mobile communications systems with an impressive heritage of technological innovations and a global base of installed systems. The group's main business is the implementation of mission critical digital mobile communication systems for Government & Public Safety Communications customers.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as a General Contractor Qualifier for specific states ( obtain and maintain appropriate certifications and licensing )
Monitor/supervise all construction related operations of the business organization including the financial aspects in the State for which they are licensed
Work with management, legal, sales, and PMO to identify, document and maintain the necessary processes required for the corporation as a General Contractor.
Conduct site walks and evaluation of new and existing facilities to provide pre-sale cost estimates in the competitive public safety communications arena
Provide constructability evaluations of existing facilities and green site locations
Post-Sale role as a Construction Manager and working with the post-sale project team take ownership of all civil requirements for a project and working with the entire project team to get the project completed.
Architect and Engineering Liaison
Assist Project Manager with Bid Package for Subcontractor’s Takeoff
Assist Project Managers in their Change Order opportunities
Assist with the Development of Project Schedules
Effectively size communication shelters, generators, UPS and DC plant equipment and towers
Effectively and clearly communicate directly with customers and consultants Motorola’s compete portfolio of Site Design and Integration services

Site Safety Guidelines, Practices and Policies
Work and clearly communicate with Motorola engineers the following:
Site selection and constructability
Coverage parameters and locations
AC and BTU loading of communication and ancillary equipment
Generator and DC backup requirements
Participate in oral presentations as required
Participate with Post sale Motorola Project Managers and Contractors in the following capacity:
Own the construction schedule and construction task for assigned projects.
Understanding particular site risk, Identifying those risk and creating solutions to overcome the site risk and keep the civil on schedule and under budget.
Specific Duties:
Direct interface with customers and consultants – must have the ability to maintain the delicate balance between vendor, customer and consultant
Provide cost estimates, scopes of work and equipment requirements in a timely manner (2-3 days) following site walks
Provide creative alternative solutions to a variety of communication equipment placement scenarios including rooftops, water tanks and existing facilities.
Concisely explain and justify cost estimates, constructability reviews and SOW’s in bid and Quote conference calls
Post Sale role as a Construction Manager and working with the post-sale project team take ownership of all civil requirements for a project and working with the entire project team to get the project completed.
Specific Knowledge and/ Skills:
Current license as General Contractor Qualifier
Ability to read, interpret and communicate blue prints, shop drawings, land and topographic surveys and specifications
Extensive Quality Assurance and Quality Control Experience specific to the construction or telecom industry
Sound and confident decision making ability.
Quick situational assessment and evaluation – make tough decisions quickly and effectively
Constructability assessment evaluation experience
Politely ask difficult questions and persistently pursues issue to conclusion
Detail oriented
Familiar with the following codes and their application:

Having project management training preferred and project management experience is required

Basic Requirements
Bachelor's Degree (Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management preferred) and 5+ years of experience
OR 8+ years of construction/ engineering or project management experience.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
