JOB OPPORTUNITY: CONSTRUCTION MANAGER
LOCATION
Based in our head office in Mead, Colorado, Ziggi's Coffee is in search of a skilled and dedicated Construction Manager. The role demands significant travel although primary operations will be conducted from our headquarters. Ideal candidates should reside in a location where Ziggi's Coffee has existing stores or future expansion plans.
OVERVIEW
As part of the burgeoning franchise industry, Ziggi's Coffee is in search of a talented and seasoned Construction Manager to fortify our developmental efforts. The manager will play a pivotal role in liaising with franchisees, architects, and contractors, in collaboration with Ziggi's Coffee's core team. The goal is to facilitate smooth, budget-friendly, and swift construction of our stores, with an emphasis on fast-tracking store openings.
The Construction Manager will decode blueprints, supervise project schedules and specifications, and cultivate strong relationships with supporting networks. They should have a robust understanding of construction documents, methodologies, and processes, with the ability to coordinate diverse teams for achieving optimal results. Proven experience in consulting with franchisees during the construction phase is a must.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Construction Manager will have a range of duties, including:
Advising franchisees throughout the construction phase
Overseeing the selection and bidding process for General Contractors to ensure competitive pricing
Orchestrating construction timelines and vendor delivery and installation schedules
Evaluating bids and pricing for all contracts and procurement decisions
Securing all necessary building and health permits
Managing all crucial activities alongside the General Contractor and vendors, from project initiation through to completion and handover to operations
Providing weekly progress reports and updates
Supporting franchisees, architects, and contractors during the construction process
Collaborating with subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure project completion within contractual parameters
Read and evaluate blueprints, shop drawings, sketches, and work orders
Coordinating internal resources for efficient store buildouts
Spotting and communicating construction conflicts for resolution by the project team
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for candidates who have:
5 Years of Construction Management experience
Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, including blueprints, permits, safety regulations, change orders, RFIs, etc.
In-depth knowledge of standard commercial construction procedures
Experience with Bluebeam or a similar platform (preferred)
Self-starter, capable of working independently
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related field (preferred)
Excellent organization and project management skills
Meticulous attention to detail, even in a fast-paced environment
Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a background in restaurant and commercial construction
Professionalism and a strong work ethic
Willingness to travel extensively, approximately 50% of the time
Please note that the role requires commitment to over 50 hours of work per week. The salary range is $85,000 to $110,000, commensurate with experience. This role comes with ample opportunities for professional growth.
