Job Description
Construction Estimator (Senior and Junior positions available)


Job Duties


  • Evaluate risk and budgets for projects by considering RFP, blueprints, specs, or other documents.
  • Manage subcontractor bid distribution, and subcontractor cost leveling.
  • Reviews construction documents and specifications to create Schematic, DD, and CD level estimates.
  • Create cost tracking and reporting operational systems.
  • Develop and present cost estimates for internal and external audiences.
  • Develop strategies to meet project goals, like setting work hours, sequencing tasks, obtaining materials, etc.
  • Consult with outsides sources and analyze documents to create time, cost, materials and labor estimates.
  • Create project specific scope sheets for subcontractor evaluation and leveling


Experience And Education


  • May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.
  • Performs work under general supervision.
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree and 2 to 4 years of commercial general contracting experience.
  • Handles moderately complex issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter.


Competencies
  • OnScreen Takeoff/STACK/PlanSwift (or similar quantitative takeoff software)
  • Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Microsoft Project
  • Organizational skills.
  • Planning skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions.
  • Total Bids/Construction Connect/Procore Preconstruction (or similar plan distribution & RFP tools)
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to comprehend, evaluate, and break down commercial and institutional construction documents (plans, specifications, reports, schedules).
  • Procore (or similar construction management software)
  • Proficient using the following construction software tools:
  • Bluebeam
