A Day In The Life
  • The working conditions for this position include tight time schedules, simultaneous projects containing similar or identical deadlines. Long hours and on-call work may be needed at times for deadlines.
  • Coordinate all assigned phases of work between the project office and the contractor.
  • Perform quantity calculations and prepare cost estimates for contract change orders, claims and monthly pay estimates.
  • Coordinate and prepare construction details to include drainage design adjustments; structure component elevations; and sign, signal, and illumination footing elevations.
  • May be required to lift survey or computer equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Assemble project information to include but not limited to control network, alignment, horizontal and vertical data, local property surveys and deeds, existing topography, “as constructed” mapping, location design data and utility mapping for contractor use.
  • Review preliminary plans for accuracy and completeness with respect to the Survey specification, alignments, typical sections, earthwork quantities, and drainage.
  • Document “As-Built” conditions, as required.
  • Supplement 2D and 3D base maps and 3D terrain models of existing ground on the CADD from electronic field data, photogrammetry or conventionally collected field data.
  • Prepare geometric design to include but not limited to intersections, detours, accesses, stockpiles and adjusting planned designed roadway alignments.
  • May occasionally be required to use different methods, other than CADD, in the preparation of geometric design and construction details.

What We Need
A bachelor's degree in civil or transportation-related engineering
OR
Completion of and passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
Driving is an essential function of this position. You must have a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s). Your license does not have to be issued in Oregon to be considered.

  • Strong working knowledge of MicroStation software.
  • Strong Organization and communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of processing field survey data into CADD software 9quantity calculations, cost estimates, as-builds).
  • Perform Complex CADD design using CADD Workstation on highway construction/transportation infrastructure environment.
