WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER


The Conservation Program Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of administrative activities in support of Wisconsin’s conservation programs, with an emphasis on supporting the land management program and projects. They will coordinate the statewide hunting program on TNC land, which includes preparing program materials, responding to inquiries, and issuing permits. They will be responsible for management of the Mukwonago River Watershed project office, including reception, sorting and distributing mail, and coordinating facility needs. They may be responsible for scheduling and coordinating logistics for special events and/or meetings. They may assist land management staff and the Volunteer and Events Manager with the recruitment, training, and activities of program volunteers.

In addition, the Coordinator may perform Information Systems, Human Resources, and Finance administrative tasks, including processing forms, preparing reports, and monitoring budgets. They will use available systems and resources to maintain, track, and research data, and to produce and review reports. They will apply established processes and practices to improve effectiveness and to document program procedures for reference by staff. They will coordinate projects and activities with multiple variables, set realistic deadlines and manage the timeline. The Coordinator will handle inquiries about business unit preserves and preserve-related activities and may assist in the development of program materials and correspondence. They will work cooperatively with Conservancy staff, providing information necessary to make decisions and solve problems.

The Coordinator may communicate on behalf of their supervisor and team with internal and external sources, including staff, donors, vendors, and businesses in order to coordinate arrangements, convey information, and ensure successful execution of the land management program. This position requires occasional travel primarily within Wisconsin and working flexible hours as needed. The work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.

This position requires one day per week in TNC’s Mukwonago River Watershed office in East Troy, WI, and may be based out of TNC’s Mukwonago, Madison, or Baraboo office or at a home-office location in Wisconsin. The starting salary for this position will be $41,500 based on location and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Do you have administrative and operational strengths and an interest in conservation? We’re looking for someone to contribute to the mission at TNC by providing organization, team support and project coordination for land conservation programs in Wisconsin. This position will field inquiries from the public about visiting our preserves and support the staff who steward the places we protect. The ideal candidate should have exceptional communication and collaboration skills and experience performing a variety of administrative tasks.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Experience in business writing, editing, and proofreading.
  • Experience performing one or more administrative processes.
  • Attention to detail experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-year experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience organizing time and managing diverse activities to meet deadlines.
  • Experience working and communicating with a wide range of people.
