Job Description

Remote Work Opportunity for Minnesota Residents Only.

As the Compliance Manager, you will help define and execute Verified Credentials’ vision and strategy for its day-to-day compliance affairs, including leading a team of Compliance Specialists and managing Compliance policies, procedures, and workflows.This role demands a high level of attention to detail, effective time management, and excellent communication and relationship-building skills, as the Compliance Manager will work with other company leaders and employees, consumers, vendors, clients, and outside counsel to manage Compliance functions.

The Compliance Manager reports to the Corporate Counsel.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day functions of the Compliance Department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer or Corporate Counsel.
  • Assist with the development and execution of inter-company and client facing Compliance education and training courses and materials.
  • Support and collaborate with internal business units regarding research and development of new product and service offerings to ensure Compliance elements are built into new products and services.
  • Support and assist in the administration of the Professional Background Screening Association Accreditation process.
  • Lead and manage team of Compliance Specialists; provide direction on Compliance-related matters, identify and resolve Compliance-related issues, evaluate performance, address performance issues, and establish and monitor performance metrics.
  • Monitor developments in screening industry compliance trends and news; share related information with business leadership and the Compliance Department.
  • Oversee daily and ongoing Compliance-related projects and ensure they are completed efficiently and timely.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce Compliance policies, procedures, processes, templates, and manuals.
  • Interface, collaborate, and support internal (executives, department heads, employees) and external (clients, vendors, outside counsel, consumers, regulators) people regarding Compliance matters.
  • Advise leadership and business units on Compliance matters.

Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in the background screening industry preferred.
  • Detail, process, and analytical orientation, demonstrated through the ability to draw conclusions, themes, and trends from data analysis, make recommendations on findings and communicate results timely and effectively.
  • Committed, reliable, invested, and all-in to the organization and team.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience developing and implementing policies, procedures, and protocol for functional requirements.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • 3+ years of Compliance-related experience preferred.
