Additional Position Details: FTE: 1.0 | Full Time | Primarily Mon - Fri / 8AM - 5PM. Salary is based on qualifications and years of relevant experience.


PLEASE NOTE: this is a remote position. However due to our pay practices, qualified candidates MUST reside within one of the following states: AK, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, KY, ME, MI, NC, NM, NV, OK, OR, TN, TX, UT, WA, VA. While candidates need to live or relocate to one of the aforementioned states, working remotely will require reliable broadband internet and personal cell phone service. Remote work may include working day-to-day operations during Pacific Standard business hours or online training.

Position Summary


The Compliance & Privacy Analyst is responsible for assisting in ongoing activities related to the maintenance of and adherence to Asante's compliance program. At the direction of the Director/Chief Compliance & Privacy Officer, this position leads or assists with compliance and privacy related investigations - gathering facts, conducting root cause analyses and, when necessary, collaborating with operational owners to develop and implement corrective action plans that will correct the identified issue or limit the likelihood of recurrence. This position develops and delivers education on compliance and privacy related risks. This position triages and responds to all compliance hotline concerns, and partners with Human Resources, the Compliance/Privacy Officer and Asante leadership to investigate and respond to all such concerns in a timely manner. This position works closely with the Director/Chief Compliance & Privacy Officer to analyze new and revised rules and regulations, and helps business owners develop processes, policies and structures to achieve compliance. The Compliance & Privacy Analyst helps support the internal risk assessment - conducting interviews, analyzing internal and external sources to identify organizational risks, and compiling information to develop Asante's compliance workplan. The Compliance & Privacy Analyst performs auditing and monitoring activities on a variety of compliance and privacy risk areas as part of Asante's annual compliance workplan. Additionally, this position helps address compliance and regulatory related questions, escalating to the Compliance/Privacy Officer or legal for further guidance as appropriate.


As a Privacy & Compliance Analyst for Asante, you will have the opportunity to:


  • Provide analysis of Privacy and Compliance data reports to identify trends for targeted training and corrective action plans; non-monetary compensation for non-employed providers; Exclusion Tracking Notification and responses; and compliance coding and billing related audits
  • Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of the annual Privacy and Compliance plan under guidance of Compliance & Privacy Officer
  • Maintain incident management repository for tracking, trending and reporting on Compliance and Privacy incidents and assist in the management of the Compliance and Privacy incident response process
  • Coordinate tasks related to various Compliance and Privacy committees (e.g., Information Privacy and Security Committee, Executive Compliance Committee, Compliance Quality and Audit Committee and Compliance Education Committee)
  • Assist in the performance and completion of Compliance and Privacy incident investigations and complaints by conducting and coordinating intake review, conducting interviews, preparing incident summaries and entering incident investigation case facts and supporting documentation into the electronic incident management system
  • Develop and review policies and procedures that establish standards for Compliance and Privacy and provides specific guidance to management, operational leadership and departments
  • Assist with performing physical audits (e.g., HIPAA Walk Throughs) and provide investigatory documentation and follow-up support for the Privacy program under the direction of the Compliance and Privacy Officer
  • Collaborate with Asante's legal department and operational stakeholders to help ensure Asante's population health activities comply with applicable state and federal laws, including but not limited to laws and rules relating to information privacy, physician self-referral, anti-kickback and related rules, and anti-trust laws. Communicates compliance risks and risk mitigation efforts related to such population health activities to the Compliance & Privacy Officer.


Qualifications


Education


  • Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent in education and work experience


Required Experience


  • Working knowledge of hospital operation processes
  • 3 years general healthcare operations or revenue cycle experience strongly preferred
  • 2 years healthcare compliance or HIPAA compliance experience required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in HIPAA Privacy and Information security


Certifications


  • CHC: Compliance Healthcare Certification
