Job Description

Location: Arlington Heights
Office: Office of Executive Director
Department: Government Affairs

Under the direction of the Section Manager, Community Relations, or designee, develops and maintains positive working relationships within an assigned territory. Acts as a liaison for Pace with passengers (including acting as a Transit Ambassador), communities, businesses, local elected officials, and community organizations to market Pace services and convey information on Pace initiatives. Assesses and implements local outreach for promotion of Pace-related programs and services within an assigned geographic territory. Handles special projects, as necessary, writes reports, attends meetings, and makes presentations. Coordinates, arranges, and conducts public hearings. Works closely with Pace staff and the Pace Board of Directors. Performs other duties as assigned. Work is performed in an office environment as well as in the Community Relations Representative's assigned territory. Frequent local travel as well working early morning, evening, and weekend hours is required.

Qualifications:
Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record. Must have a bachelor's degree in business administration, political science, public administration, or related field and a minimum two years of experience working in government affairs with a good work record, transit or government-related experience is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the duties described above. Bilingual in English/Spanish is desired. Must possess strong research skills and be proficient using Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams. Must be customer-service oriented, dependable, empathetic, and a good listener. Must possess and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual in English/Spanish is desired.
