AMHERST SEE WEBSITE FOR FULL JOB DESCRIPTION ON CAMPUS HOUSING REQUIRED Community Development Coordinator Amherst College invites applications for the Community Development Coordinator positions (two openings). The Community Development Coordinator is a full-time, year-round position, starting at \$49,227 per year. Given Amherst\'s distinction as one of the most diverse liberal arts colleges in the country, the successful candidate will demonstrate the ways in which they bring value to and will work towards supporting a broadly diverse community. Working as part of the Residential Engagement & Wellbeing Team (REWT), the Community Development Coordinator (CDC) will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to build on and advance the connection of our students to their environment and each other. The CDC will work to create a residential living and learning experience that enables students to grow their sense of self, improve their individual and collective wellbeing, challenge themselves to learn and grow holistically, and fully engage in the intellectual life of the college. This team is part of the larger structure in student affairs that is working to center wellbeing in the living and learning environment of Amherst College. Under the direction of the Associate Director for Residential Education and Leadership, the CDC is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive residential engagement and wellbeing program. As a front-line student-facing position, the CDC will help students develop leadership skills needed to build and create a culture that centers on equity, belonging, wellbeing, and respect. The work encourages and supports our students to grow and learn academically, socially, and emotionally. The CDC implements programs and environmental strategies that promote and center holistic student development that is constructively challenging and supportive. This includes working with and supervising student staff. The CDC bases their work in theoretical frameworks and evidence-informed practices. The CDC role focuses on both care and accountability for students, and the overseeing of programming related to improving the wellbeing of our students living in the halls. Qualifications: Required Bachelor\'s degree and at least two years of post-bachelor\'s experience, or a master\'s degree in Higher Education, Student Development, Counseling, or a related field. A valid driver\'s license and successful credentialing in order to drive College-owned vehicles. A minimum of one year of related experience post bachelor\'s degree. Strong skills in written, verbal, and electronic communication, including the effective use of social media and the ability to foster cohesive interpersonal relationships. Evidence-based commitment to supporting a diverse student community. Commitment to fostering inclusive communities through leadership and programming. Excellent organization, problem resolution skills, and customer service skills. Successful CORI check result. Preferred A master\'s degree in social work, higher education or related field. One year of experience in higher education. Experience with wellbeing practices. Experience with crisis management. Experience in residential life, residential engagement, or similar. Robust understanding of academic priorities, the educational mission of institutions, and ways in which residential life, programs, and functions can promote student engagement, advance student learning, and contribute to achieving desired learning goals. Demonstrated effectiveness in using administrative, supervisory, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other Student Affairs departments and faculty in the College community. Strong student supervision and programming experience.
