JOB SUMMARY: WCG is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Communications Specialist who has experience in both public relations and internal communications, with a strong writing background. As a Communications Specialist, you will play a critical role in developing and executing communication strategies that align with our organization's mission. This is a dynamic role that requires excellent communication skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Education Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.

Qualifications/Experience

• Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to craft compelling and effective communications materials for various audiences and channels
• Ability to work independently but enjoys collaboration and taking ownership of projects
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Knowledge of best practices in public relations, media relations, and internal communications
• Proven experience in executing communication strategies that align with organizational goals and objectives
• Competence with Microsoft Office Suite, Cision
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage relationships with media outlets, reporters, and journalists
• Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communications tools
• 2 years of experience working on a corporate communications/media team

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

• Monitor and analyze media coverage, industry trends, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and provide recommendations for communication strategies
• Manage relationships with media outlets, reporters, and journalists to pitch stories, respond to media inquiries, and coordinate interviews
• Execute on comprehensive communication strategies to support our organization's public relations and internal communications initiatives
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to gather information and content for internal communications, such as company announcements, updates, and employee newsletters
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, human capital management, and business development, to ensure consistent messaging and communication across various channels and platforms
• Write, edit, and proofread a wide range of communications materials, including press releases, media pitches, internal memos, newsletters, speeches, and other written content

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 0- 5%
Domestic and international travel including overnight, and weekend stays as necessary, consistent with project needs and office location.

Expected annual base salary range: $55,400 to $77,500
