Communications Specialist Jobs

V! Studios is seeking a full-time Communications Specialist to help in the development and execution of original content that will increase engagement with our clients’ crucial audiences.

You must have a passion for communications, be highly collaborative and detail-oriented, and be a self-starter who can adhere to deadlines. You will be responsible for building relationships with client stakeholders to identify important milestones, events, and initiatives. You will also be responsible for producing content for digital platforms (such as articles, social media posts, etc.) that is accurate and in compliance with client style guides.

Responsibilities

• Staying current on industry best practices and audience trends and making recommendations for refining communications strategies and tactics
• Coordinating and integrating communication approaches, audience messages, and products across a full spectrum of disciplines and platforms
• Assisting communications team in developing, refining, and implementing communications strategy
• Steering communications strategies based on key metrics and refining requirements to meet evolving communication objectives
• Writing content to support communications products, including web features, website copy, social media posts, briefing materials, and presentations for leadership
• And other communications-related tasks
• Monitoring analytics and creating reports detailing the successes and lessons learned of communications campaigns and strategies
• Managing projects and schedules
• Supporting event planning

Requirements

• Understanding of AP Stylebook
• Superior time management and organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Understanding of digital analytics for online content
• Ability to multitask and perform in a multi-faceted environment under minimal supervision
• Exceptional writing and interpersonal communication skills
• This position requires U.S. citizenship
• Portfolio showcasing previous work
• Self-motivated, able to work independently but also collaboratively
• Occasional travel may be required
• The work location is in Tysons Corner, Virginia with regular meetings in Washington, DC. This is not a remote position.
• Three to five+ years experience in a communications or marketing role
• Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of graphic design tools, Adobe Suite and visual design skills
• NASA or civilian science agency experience
• Proficient public speaking abilities
