JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:

The Specialist, Communications will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the communications strategies for TeamHealth across external and internal audiences.

This role provides comprehensive assistance with day-to-day communication activities. This position requires a strong background in healthcare communications, excellent writing and editing skills, and the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams in Marketing, Content, and broader business and clinical units. The ideal candidate will be a creative and strategic thinker, capable of developing engaging content while maintaining a strong focus on accuracy and compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Look for opportunities to enhance effectiveness of communications approach for enterprise-wide programs and initiatives, such as corporate branding campaigns, digital and social media, white papers, case studies, and news coverage.
  • Research communication best practices for engaging internal and external audiences, industry trends, and relevant media coverage.
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating events, conferences, and speaking engagements to promote the organization's initiatives.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive communication plans that support the organization's objectives and enhance brand awareness for internal and external audiences.
  • Create and distribute compelling and informative content for a variety of communication channels that inform and engage audiences, including communication plans, newsletters, blogs, press releases, talking points, intranet (Zenith), mass e-mail communications (Poppulo), public affairs (VoterVoice), and other materials.
  • As needed, support communications for issues and crises.
  • Partner with key TeamHealth stakeholders, including executives, clinical and business leaders, marketing, legal, government relations and other subject matter experts, to gather information and develop accurate and engaging communications approaches.
  • Coordinate scheduling and logistics.
  • Prepare and edit communication reports and/or presentations for executive-level audiences.
  • Other responsibilities as needed.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
  • Working for or with a large organization with a national or significant regional presence, prior healthcare agency experience a plus.
  • 2-5 years of experience in communications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to translate complex information into clear, concise, and compelling messages, including knowledge of Associated Press Style a must.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment required.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in using communication tools and technologies a plus.
  • Ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships with senior organization leaders.
