College Essay Counselor Jobs

Job Summary:
With multiple students applying to their dream colleges, we are seeking to add an experienced College Essay Counselor to join our team! At this position, your role is to advise students in the process of sorting out their possible career and college majors, and align their interests with those paths and present them in well written essays for colleges. Your responsibilities will include assisting students in discovering their strengths and goals from their courses, activities, awards, and personal experiences and stories, providing feedback on their materials, and providing helpful college-related information. If you are passionate about helping others to discover their passions and to put together an impressive presentation, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:

• Conduct aptitude and personality assessments and help students to identify the colleges that are good matches
• Review student profile materials, interview students and brainstorm ideas to put together the application essays to best present their strength
• Essay revision based on both English writing as well as the best presentation of a lively person

Qualifications:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Prior experience as a College Counselor or Essay Coach/instructor is preferred
• Awareness and understanding of cultural and societal differences
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in English or related fields
• Demonstrated excellent English writing skills
• Knowledge of and adherence to regulations and best practices in college counseling methods
• Strong computer editing and tracking skills
